whole wheat chocolate chip cookies

27 Apr

IMG_2338

Around the time I start The Late Afternoon, my mom gave me a scribbled down recipe for whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and a ziploc bag of whole wheat flour. With everything else going on, I haven’t had a chance to try out the recipe…until this weekend! I finally took out my bag of wheat flour from the fridge and made these delicious cookies. The recipe makes about 3 dozen, which equals about 2.5 dozen cookies consumed solely by me. Yum!

I typed up the recipe below:

Happy Friday! Is SPRING finally here? Please tell me YES. After way too many days of Bay Area storms, I am so glad to report that it is a nice seventy degrees here in the South Bay. I’m currently sitting on my balcony in shorts drafting up blog posts. Ahhh I’ve waited for these days…!

These animal prints from Push Me Pull You Designs by Eleanor Grosch remind me of origami and tangrams. Somehow all the angular shapes piece together to make these creative, sharp-edged images of pelicans, flamingos, tigers, and giraffes – to name a few. I love the playful use of saturated contrasting colors in these prints! Push Me Pull You Designs not only makes graphic animal prints, but also has a large collection of stationary and invitations.

IMG_2306

After a week and a half of waiting, I finally received my cupcake notebook in the mail today! I designed and ordered my notebook from Snapfish after winning a free personalized notebook in honor of Snapfish’s 10th Birthday. The photo is from an afternoon of cupcake-making for a friend’s birthday (http://www.thelateafternoon.com/magnolias-chocolate-cupcakes). I’m planning on using my free notebook for scribbling down new blog ideas. 200 blank pages to go…!

Order your own personalized notebook @ snapfish.com (maybe you can win a free notebook too!)

obsessive consumption

imageObsessive Consumption by Kate Bingamin-Burt is the most quirky, random blog I’ve stumbled upon in awhile…its great! I liked it so much that I’ve added it to my blogroll. Since 2002, Kate Bingamin-Burt has documented her daily purchases in black and white, inky line drawings. From a $0.39 light switch to a “buy two tank tops for $15” deal to a $36 new haircut, Bingamin-Burt has a way of making the every day mundane purchases interesting and humorous with her witty captions and drawings. Trust me, I’ll be checking this every day!
