A Shade of Red Giveaway!

19 Oct

Artist and former Anthropologie visual director, Alyson Fox, recently released a lovely new photography book, A Shade of Redthat captures the individuality and uniqueness that we all possess. The catch? Each subject was asked to wear the same shade of red lipstick, which acted as the single shared characteristic between them. Pretty fascinating, right? Even more fascinating? Today, we’re giving TWO books away! Yay! The book has a permanent home on my coffee table and I can’t help but flip through the pages every so often.

To enter, leave a comment below telling me YOUR favorite shade of red (my favorite is probably more like a dark pink, coral color). And while you’re at it, check out  A Shade of Red here. Please be sure to include some way for me to contact you in case you’re the winner!

Two random winners will be picked on Tuesday, October 25. This giveaway is for U.S. residents only (sorry!).

Thank you Continental 29 for sponsoring this giveaway!

My sister just got back from a month in South East Asia and, though I wish I could have gone too, lucky for me, she brought back these gorgeous strings of lanterns, yummy snacks, and an adorable elephant pouch from Cambodia (also shown above)! I have yet to construct each lantern and string the balls onto the lights, but I am so excited to hang them once we move. While, I don’t have as many strings as the last image, imagine how pretty these would look all lit up on a summer night! Thank you Nicole!!!

Life’s a Picnic

4 May

imageAll this beautiful weather is making me want to spend as much time as possible soaking up the sun. We ate outdoors last night, but I don’t think a shopping mall patio constitutes “outdoors,” especially considering how much I’m craving a picnic! I’m currently loving all of these cute picnic components, especially how kraft paper can simply make a sandwich or slice of cake look picnic-worthy!

1. Limited edition Paul Smith for Evian water. I think I want the bottle more than the actual water…

2. Red grid wrapper and bagel label by The Indigo Bunting.

3. Homemade kraft wrappers to distinguish yours from mine by Tokketok.

4. Keep your pie / cake slices from getting squished with this simple packaging. The baker’s twine and wooden utensils add a perfect picnic touch!

5. I had to post this bumble bee honey jar packaging – its just too adorable.

6. The abstract brush strokes on these DIY paper cups are splashed in such summer colors.

These ten little ink pads are my newest “toys.”  I recently acquired a ton of rubber stamps, but only had one dark purple ink pad to stamp them with. That is, until now! I still have yet to find my true stamping abilities – I tend to end up with a lot of smudged images, but I’m excited to give all of my new bright colors a try!
