Life’s a Picnic

4 May

imageAll this beautiful weather is making me want to spend as much time as possible soaking up the sun. We ate outdoors last night, but I don’t think a shopping mall patio constitutes “outdoors,” especially considering how much I’m craving a picnic! I’m currently loving all of these cute picnic components, especially how kraft paper can simply make a sandwich or slice of cake look picnic-worthy!

1. Limited edition Paul Smith for Evian water. I think I want the bottle more than the actual water…

2. Red grid wrapper and bagel label by The Indigo Bunting.

3. Homemade kraft wrappers to distinguish yours from mine by Tokketok.

4. Keep your pie / cake slices from getting squished with this simple packaging. The baker’s twine and wooden utensils add a perfect picnic touch!

5. I had to post this bumble bee honey jar packaging – its just too adorable.

6. The abstract brush strokes on these DIY paper cups are splashed in such summer colors.

These ten little ink pads are my newest “toys.”  I recently acquired a ton of rubber stamps, but only had one dark purple ink pad to stamp them with. That is, until now! I still have yet to find my true stamping abilities – I tend to end up with a lot of smudged images, but I’m excited to give all of my new bright colors a try!

Don’t you love sneak peeks into other people’s closets / bags / homes? Maybe that’s just the nosy part of me. This design concept by Kontor Kontur satisfies my love for sneak peeks, color, and organization. Just looking at the collections of objects above, its easy to get lost imagining the personalities and stories behind each of these images – even if they may be choreographed.

Wool and the Gang

image imageI never ever, ever, ever thought I’d want to crochet / knit wear beyond the scarf, but Wool and the Gang has totally inspired me. This is not a fashion blog, but I can’t help but post these knitted pieces by Wool and the Gang. Not to mention, their Pima cotton yarn comes in shiny, yummy colors and you can also purchase kits to knit up your own slouchy summer tops. Who knew knitting could be this cool?

The Hideout

How gorgeous was yesterday? My goodness. Too bad I was stuck inside the office for all the sunny hours of the day. Boo. Any way, enough of my complaining because SPRING is really here! Yippee. To make up for my lack of outdoors yesterday, I’m indulging in these pretty spring indoor and outdoor forts. Mike and I made a fort in our living room once and spent time cramming our faces with cream puffs and watching movies. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as pretty as these forts (think lopsided and falling apart), but it was fun any way. I can’t wait for consistently sunny days and for weekends camping and real time spent outdoors!
