julia rothman’s work is super cool – just look at the introduction to her website, http://www.juliarothman.com. combining bright colors with random, silly objects (clocks, cooking tools, giraffes, and fluffy pink sheep, to name a few), rothman has the ability to make ordinary objects into fun, whimsical patterns. rothman’s patterns have the feel of those doodles that you draw in class, but a million times better. i like how the lines are so clean and simple, yet the images are very detailed and original. the possible uses of rothman’s patterns are endless. in fact, her work is currently sold as wallpapers, bedding, greeting cards, product packaging, wrapping paper, etc. i need to get my hands on some of this stuff!!
