true colors

I love the look of these simple pieces featuring eye-popping colors. The bright colors splashed onto these seemingly simple mugs, ceramics, and household items add a spark of personality – its a little bit contemporary and a little bit conservative. I’ve been seeing this trend a lot lately and from my search through the web, its becoming more and more popular. Take a look at a few of these conservative contemporary everyday items:

Similar to UO’s true color mugs, these three-legged tripod pots from Rare Devices also have stark white exteriors and bright interiors.

image This Iocali & McAllister work bench is simple and contemporary with its clean lines and brightly painted steel legs. The work bench even has a simple name, “Panca,” meaning bench in Italian.

imageThese natural oak wooden wedges Thorsen Van Elten doorstops are livened up with a splash of summer color – pink, sunshine yellow, and white.

image I was drawn to the homemade “pinch pot” look and the hand-stamped lettering of Rae Dunn’s ceramic bowls at Renegade this year. These “pinch” and “dash” mini bowls feature painted interiors and simple sayings.

I purchased couple bowls like this at Target years ago. They are still sturdy as ever. There’s something about ceramic white bowls with a pop of color that looks so polish, yet fun. I wannnnnntt the “pinch” and “dash” bowls!
